SunPower Announces Stock Symbol Change for Class A Shares and Commencement of 'Regular Way' Trading of Class B Shares

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SunPower Corporation (News), a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems, announced that, effective today, the company's stock symbol for its class A common stock has changed from "SPWR" to "SPWRA". The company also announced that "regular way" trading of its class B common stock under the symbol "SPWRB" will begin today. Both classes of stock trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market.

The change in stock symbol, and the trading in the company's class B common stock, occurred in connection with the completion of the spin-off by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, the former majority shareholder of SunPower Corporation class B common stock.

Nach den heutigen Zahlen von First Solar dürfte der Kurs sich sehr positiv entwickeln.

hab mir mal eine kleine Position zu 20,60 in mein Depot gelegt...
Ich denke, die Aktie hat etwas "Nachholbedarf".....

Noch interessanter finde ich diesen eigenartigen Aufwärtstrend den die Aktie seit etwa 3 Monaten hat. Der ist zwar flach wie eine Sandbank tendiert aber trotzdem nach oben. Jedes Mal scheinen welche die Dämpfer zum Kauf zu nutzen.

Ich will nicht behaupten, dass die Aktie unterbewertet ist, weil ich gerade keine Lust habe das mit den anderen aus der Branche zu vergleichen. Kann das nicht mal jemand tun? Aber scheinbar bewegt sie sich auch bei guten News nicht sonderlich.

Stellt sich eigentlich nur eine Frage. Wenn das US-Förderprogramm mal Wirkung zeigt, werden sich die Leute die beste und optisch ansprechende Solaranlage aufs Dach packen? Ich bin zumindest optimistisch, dass es keine chinesische sein wird.

 

 

Das Design entscheidet bei uns, so denke ich immer, beim Auto, Mode und sogar im Supermarkt! Die Solarzellen von SunPower haben ein geniales schwarzes Design!

Der Kurs von Sunpower scheint bei 22,00 Euro wie festgetackert zu sein. Hat jemand von Euch eine logische Begründung? Wo seht Ihr den Kurs in den nächsten Wochen?

Ich frage mich derzeit, ob man hier wirklich richtig investiert ist. Sollte man hier verkaufen und in andere Titel investieren? Wie ist Eure Meinung?

 

Tag für Tag runter... Wo soll das nur hinführen? Bin hier bei ca. 22 Euro rein - hoffentlich kein Fehler! Was meint Ihr?

UBS analysts Robin Cheng and Stephen Chin this morning assert in a lengthy report that solar energy demand is gradually recovering, and that momentum should accelerate in the second half of this year, driven by strong government incentives in China and the U.S., improved project financing in the U.S and lower module prices. He raised his forecast for 2010 solar demand by 15% to 10.5 GW from 9.1 GW, although he lowered his estimate on module prices for 2010 by 12% to $1.95 per watt.

His colleague Chin today boosted his rating on SunPower (SPWRA) to Buy from Neutral, upping his target to $38, from $26. He says SPWRA is the best positioned U.S. solar company. “Our checks find that the U.S. Treasury is likely to start accepting applications by the end of June” for stimulus program subsidies, “with cash grants likely paid within 65 days of the application date,” he writes. Chin reports that channel checks support his view that the U.S. residential solar segment will likely grow 2x in 2010 to 340 MW given lower module prices, an uncapped 30% investment tax credit, and generous state level subsidies, enabling residential system buyers to lower payback periods to under five years from 9 years previously.

Chin ups his 2009 EPS estimate for SPWRA to 42 cents from 32 cents; for 2010 he goes to $2.25, from $1.98.

SPWRA this morning is up $1.43, or 5.1%, to $29.50.

Despite the downgrade, LDK is up 49 cents, or 4.5%, to $11.48.  

Die Analysten bekräftigten in den letzten Wochen ihre Kaufempfehlungen. Sunpower hat die diesjährige Erholung nicht mitgemacht. Ich frage mich, warum diese Aktie so schwankt? Das kann doch nicht nur mit dem Gesamtmarkt im Zusammenhang stehen!?

Ich bin immer davon ausgegangen, dass es - druch die Konjunkturprogramme - zu einer deutlichen Erholung im Solarbereich (insbesonder Sunpower) kommen wird. Mittlerweile weiß ich gar nichts mehr.

 

Derzeit liest man oft, dass es im Solarsektor vermehrt zu Übernahmen kommen könnte. Hier nun meine Frage: Ist es möglich oder sogar wahrscheinlich, dass Sunpower übernommen wird? Der Kurs ist ja mächtig abgeschmiert?
