ROCMEC INCREASES ITS FLEET OF THERMAL FRAGMENTATION UNITS

Rocmec Mining Inc. has mandated Pro-Ab Equipments (2003) Inc. to assemble five thermal fragmentation units before the end of February, 2009.

Pro-Ab will be modifying two of the existing fragmentation units by incorporating components that will increase their flexibility similar to the unit already in operation in Nevada. Two new units will be assembled, one of which will be shipped to South Africa upon completion. The unit currently in operation in Nevada will be retrofitted with more robust tracks capable of handling difficult terrain conditions in the sublevels.

Rocmec will use two thermal fragmentation units in Nevada, one thermal fragmentation unit in South Africa, one thermal fragmentation unit at its Rocmec 1 property, located in Rouyn-Noranda, Que., and the last unit will remain in stock, ready and available to respond to the increasing demand from around the globe.

ROUYN-NORANDA, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 19, 2009) - GLOBEX MINING ENTERPRISES INC. (TSX:GMX) (FRANKFURT:G1M) (PINK SHEETS:GLBXF) is pleased to inform shareholders that Rocmec Mining Inc. (TSX VENTURE:RMI) has announced the shipment of the first 290 kg's of gold concentrate from Globex's Russian Kid Mine (Rocmec 1) royalty property to the Johnson-Matthey refinery in Ontario. It was further announced that an additional shipment of concentrate will be sent this week and that as of March 2009, shipments of concentrate will be sent to the refinery twice monthly.

Romec also announced that a drill program will be undertaken on the Boucher gold structure between the 150 and 400 metre levels once drill contracts are finalized. Also a second thermal fracturing unit has been received and has started breaking ore at the mine.

Globex maintains a 5% Gross Metal Royalty on the first 25,000 ounces of gold produced from the mine and a 3% Gross Metal Royalty thereafter. The royalty is not subject to any costs whatsoever.

Globex is pleased that Rocmec has reached this milestone and looks forward to the possibility of a steady stream of gold royalty payments.

Thermische Zersplitterung

Rocmec hat eine "grüne" Technologie entwickelt, welche den Bergbau revolutionieren könnte.

Dieses Verfahren limitiert den Gebrauch von Sprengstoff auf ein Minimum und hinterlässt praktisch keine Abfälle.

Rocmec verwendet die thermische Zersplitterung für den Abbau des Erzgesteins. Das Gestein wird mit einem Schneidbrenner in kleine Splitter zerkleinert unter Verwendung eines Wasserstrahls und Pressluft und dies bei 1800 Grad Celsius.

Durch dieses Verfahren müssen lediglich Stollen von 60 cm Durchmesser realisiert werden um das Erzgestein rauszuholen anstatt grosse Teile des Gesteins zu sprengen, wie dies bei den meisten Minen üblich ist.

Mobile Mühle

Eine weitere Innovation stellt die von Rocmec konzipierte unterirdische Mühle dar, welche eine die Verarbeitung des Erzgesteins vor Ort ermöglicht. Die durch thermische Zersplitterung herausgeholten Splittersteine werden zermahlen und raffiniert. Die Anlage kann bis zu 70 Tonnen Konzentrat pro Tag herstellen.

Bei der herkömmlichen Verarbeitung entstehen von 6 Tonnen Erzgestein ungefähr 1 Tonne "brauchbares" Erzgestein. Rund 5 Tonnen sind für die Weiterverarbeitung "nicht brauchbar" und landen auf den Schutthalden. Das neue Verfahren ist zyanidfrei und verhindert die Entstehung solcher Schutthalden, was umwelttechnisch als eine bedeutende Leistung gesehen werden muss. Der nach Verarbeitung entstandene Abfall wird wieder an die Stelle zurückgeführt, an der er abgebaut wurde. Somit entfallen auch die Transportkosten in eine externe Verarbeitungsstätte, welches nicht zuletzt auch noch ein effizienter Beitrag gegen die Luftverschmutzung darstellt.

Rocmec verfolgt zwei Ziele: Die eigene Goldproduktion dank effizientem Verfahren und das zur Verfügungstellen dieser Technologie an andere Bergbau-Unternehmen. Das durch Rocmec entwickelte Verfahren stösst auf grosses Interesse, sind doch im Moment mit 21 Firmen aus 6 verschiedenen Ländern Verhandlungen im Gang.
